These terms govern your use of the Mina Scissors website. By using this website or engaging with us regarding our products, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.
About Us
Mina Scissors is a professional hair scissor brand operated from Japan. Our main facility is located in Saitama, Japan. Our registered mailing address is in Ginza, Tokyo. Contact details are available on our contact page.
How We Sell
Mina Scissors products are sold exclusively through authorised distributors and professional beauty supply retailers. We do not sell directly to end consumers through this website. Product sales, pricing, payment, and fulfilment are handled by our distribution partners, including ScissorLab GK (scissorlab.co.jp) for international markets including the United States, Canada, and Australia.
If you are interested in becoming a distributor or retailer, please contact us.
For end consumers: if you have purchased Mina Scissors through a retailer or distributor, your purchase is governed by that seller’s own terms of sale, return policy, and warranty service. Please contact your point of purchase directly for any order-related enquiries.
Product Safety and Professional Use
Mina Scissors products are sharp, professional-grade cutting instruments designed for use by trained hairdressers, barbers, and beauty professionals. By purchasing or using our products, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Professional tools: Our scissors are precision cutting instruments that require proper training and technique to use safely. We strongly recommend professional training before use.
- Age restriction: Our products are intended for adults aged 18 and over.
- Safe handling: The user is solely responsible for the safe handling, storage, and use of their scissors. Always store scissors in a protective case when not in use, keep them away from children, and handle blades with care.
- No liability for misuse: Mina Scissors accepts no responsibility for injury, damage, or loss resulting from improper use, inadequate training, failure to follow safe handling practices, or use by unauthorised persons.
- Local regulations: Purchasers and users are responsible for ensuring that the purchase, import, and use of professional cutting instruments complies with any applicable laws or regulations in their jurisdiction.
Product Information
We describe our products as accurately as possible on this website for informational and promotional purposes. Because our scissors are finished by hand, minor visual variations between individual pairs are normal and not considered defects. Colours shown on screen may differ slightly from the finished product. Product specifications, availability, and pricing should be confirmed with your local distributor or retailer.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to text, photographs, logos, the Mina Scissors name, product names, the hanko seal design, and page layouts — is the property of Mina Scissors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent. Use of our brand name, logos, or product images by distributors and retailers requires a current written agreement.
Distributor and Retailer Relationships
Distributors and retailers are independent businesses. Mina Scissors is not responsible for the pricing, promotions, return policies, customer service, or any other terms offered by our distribution partners. Any claims or disputes related to a purchase should be directed to the seller from whom the product was purchased.
Warranty
All Mina Scissors products carry a one-year manufacturer’s warranty from the date of original retail purchase against defects in materials and workmanship under normal professional use. The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, dropping, or negligence
- Normal wear from regular use (including gradual dulling of the edge)
- Damage from improper sharpening or adjustment by third parties
- Cosmetic wear (scratches, finish wear) that does not affect function
- Products modified or repaired by anyone other than Mina Scissors
Warranty claims should be initiated through your distributor or retailer. If you purchased directly through one of our authorised channels and need to reach us, contact us with your purchase details and a description of the issue. At our discretion, we will repair, replace, or refund the product. Warranty service does not extend the original warranty period. For sharpening and maintenance, see our sharpening page.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- Mina Scissors’ total liability for any claim arising from our products is limited to the purchase price paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
- In no event shall Mina Scissors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of business, personal injury claims arising from misuse, or damage to other property, regardless of the theory of liability.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mina Scissors, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use or misuse of our products, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
Force Majeure
Mina Scissors shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, customs delays, carrier disruptions, or supplier shortages.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or our products shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court. Before initiating legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith correspondence.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These terms, together with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mina Scissors regarding your use of this website.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
