Mina Scissors is a professional hair shear brand based in Japan. We design, finish, and dispatch every pair ourselves — shipped worldwide from our facility in Saitama, Japan.
What We Do
We make hair cutting and thinning shears for professional use. Our lineup covers everything from entry-level models for students and apprentices to specialist shears for experienced stylists and barbers. Every pair features ergonomic handles designed to reduce fatigue over long hours and Japanese style blades that hold their edge through daily use.
Our Approach
We believe good tools should be accessible without compromising on quality. That’s the idea behind every pair of Mina scissors: professional performance at a price that makes sense for working stylists, not just flagship salons.
The scissors are checked by hand before they leave us. The sharpening service is run by the same team. If you send a pair back for maintenance, you are sending them to the people who made them.
Based in Japan
Every Mina scissor is hand-finished, quality-checked, and triple-inspected at our Saitama facility in Japan before it leaves the workshop. Our Ginza, Tokyo address is a registered mailing address only — all production, finishing, inspection, and dispatch take place in Saitama. We work with a network of authorised distributors across North America, Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, coordinated internationally by ScissorLab GK. Every shipment is sent direct from our Saitama facility to the destination country.
We are a regular presence at Tokyo hair industry events, including the Tokyo Hairdressing Design Conference and Japan Scissors Masterclass, where we share the workshop floor with peer brands and meet the professionals who use our tools day to day.
Who We Serve
Mina Scissors are used by:
- Professional hairdressers — working in salons across more than twenty countries
- Barbers — who want shears built for precision fading and detail work
- Students and apprentices — learning to cut with a shear that rewards good technique
- Educators and academies — who equip their students with tools they can rely on
Whether you are buying your first pair or adding to a kit you have built over years, the range is designed to give you a shear that fits.
Heritage Meets Accessibility
Japan has a long tradition of tool making, and the craft of the professional scissor is part of that story. We draw on it without losing sight of why stylists actually buy a new pair: because they need to cut well, all day, without the tool getting in the way.
